So, I was in World Religions class today, and I got the surprise of my life. If you look on Kayak or another travel site, the cheapest you'll find to get to England would be about $800-900. For a guy that's trying to convince people to donate just $2-3, that's a daunting number.
As fate would have it, though, one of my classmates tells me (knowing nothing of this blog) that, for $500, she has a "spare ticket" to London/Gatwick she will sell me. I guess what had happened is her trip fell apart and she's left holding what amounts to very expensive scratch paper.
The catch: it's an 18-day ticket, centered around the same timeframe as the Olympics. But still, $500 is kind of epic, and I bet, pulling a few strings, I could get the dates and duration changed, should I secure the ticket.
That's an interesting development, wouldn't you say?
